Remarks:
For the first time at a Vertigo show, the ‘Everyone’ intro is not used before tonight’s show. Bono thanks Herbert Groenemeyer and Wim Wenders before ‘One.’ Songs rehearsed earlier include ‘Crumbs From Your Table’, ‘All I Want Is You,’ ‘Original Of The Species,’ ‘Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses,’ and ‘With Or Without You.’ Only the latter is played tonight.
Unos, dos, tres, quatorze! Hello hello, I was in a place called Vertigo! It really was an exploding performance! More than 2 hours jumping, clapping and singing! Bono was vocally very strong (the ending Vertigo was even better than the starting Vertigo!)and the gitarsolo's of the Edge were better than his studioversions! The atmosphere was elevating. Highlights were the big wall effects on City of Blinding Lights, the drumsolo of Bono on Love and Peace (and the Bloody Sunday continueing), the whole stadium thrilling on the Streets, Bono's shadow performance at the start of ZOO Station, the gitarsolo on Mysterious Ways and the dazzling Vertigo in the end! It was a beautiful day! Thank U, U2!
