Opening act Fatima Mansions got booed off the stage, mainly due to the fact that they called the crowd a bunch of mother f*s and appeared to hit a cricket ball into the audience.
U2 appeared on stage a little late, probably becase there was football on the tv, Scotland defeated Russia 3-0 in Euro ‘92. During the show the big screens showed the goals from the game with delerious cheers from the crowd!
Bono’s voice was partly gone but it didn’t matter. The show was excellent. It was nice to see ZOO TV in a more intimate setting than what was to come during the outdoor shows.
The best part of the stage was definately the trabbies, especially when they moved from side to side, it was a great idea to use them as part of the lighting…nice one Willie!!
The thing I remember most was Bono on the B-stage in his Fly Shades looking in the general direction of where I was…how cool were those shades?!!
Excellent show and a great taster of the extravaganza still to come that was Zooropa!
