Opening Act(s): B.B. King
Hawkmoon 269, Desire, All Along The Watchtower, All I Want Is You, Where The Streets Have No Name, I Will Follow, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, MLK, The Unforgettable Fire, God Part II, Help, Bad, Van Diemen's Land, New Year's Day, Pride (In The Name Of Love). Encore(s): 40.
Hawkmoon 269 was played for the final time, making it the only performance outside of Australia. This concert came to a premature close due to serious problems with Bono's voice that were especially manifested in God Part II. Concerts for the next two nights were cancelled and four replacement shows were performed early in January 1990 in Rotterdam. Also, the band decided to refund every single ticket for this concert due to Bono's mishap. Due to the premature conclusion of the show, the usual encore with B.B. King and his band was not played, and accordingly this was the only Lovetown gig at which Angel Of Harlem, When Love Comes To Town, and Love Rescue Me were not performed.

The return to Amsterdam was a bit of a dissapointment, due to the voice problems Bono had. After 3 songs it appeared that Bono wasn't able to sing, so he let the audience do the job. He was really mad about is, swinging the microphone and slashing it to the stage. After a small hour he told us he couldn't continue and U2 would take care of us getting our money back or see them another time for a free concert.
They didn't play the encore with BB King, just did '40
The shows for the next days were cancelled, but U2 came back after the, now famous, New Years Day show in Dublin, to play 4 more gigs in Rotterdam (a smaller venue) where all ticket holders could witness the concerts or get their money back.
For me it was a dissapointment, cause U2 where back in my hometown, they normally played Rotterdam (80 km's from Amsterdam) and I managed to get up front, even though I entered the venue just 20 minutes before U2 get up stage. When I was inside, I bought 4 beers and hold them up, while going up front telling everone that my friends were there and I had to get the beers. Everybody believed me and in 10 minutes I was in the closed area, where some security member asked me for my wristband, I told him I didn't get one, so he gave me one. I was really lucky, until the show began and I sensed the problems with Bono's voice....
