Tonight at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, U2 as the final act, perform at the second of two nights at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concert. Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith join U2 on stage for “Because The Night” but have to perform it again due to botching the lyrics. Springsteen then plays with U2 for “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” before the Black Eyed Peas perform Mysterious Ways and “Where Is The Love” with U2. Afterwards, Mick Jagger and Fergie sing Gimme Shelter with U2 acting as the house band. Jagger then has a duet with Bono on Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of. U2 could have had a longer set had it not been for the miscues on “Because The Night” and planned on performing 12 songs within an hour. Other performers at this two night event included Aretha Franklin, Jerry Lee Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, Metallica, Sting, Lou Reed, Ozzy Osbourne, Annie Lennox, Lenny Kravitz, John Fogerty, B.B. King, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Ray Davies, Buddy Guy and Billy Joel.
